Summary:
The paper contends that porosity of the surface is responsible for noise reduction and that rubber (dry process) does not
directly contribute to noise reduction.  Reference is made to a new pavement, “poroelastic surface,” under experiment
in Sweden that has promise for noise reduction if certain engineering problems can be solved.
