Summary:
The in-place surface recycling process, utilizing equipment specifically designed to heat and rework asphalt pavement,
does present an alternative to the conventional plant recycling or leveling resurfacing processes.  The process has a
proven record having been in use since 1964, with projects completed in all sections of the nation.  In addition to the
advantages it offers in reducing traffic delays, conserving energy and other natural resources, and solving engineering
problems associated with drainage blockage and the like, it has been proven that in-place recycling of existing asphalt
pavements will stretch the highway dollar.  There by it will save the taxpayers money by providing more miles of paved
surface for each dollar spent.
